Since June, we've settled nicely into our new lives. Spending most of the summer exploring new and familiar parks in the area and enjoying one of the warmest summers in history for this part of the world. It was great! I enjoyed spending my off time with my friends, seeing new places and meeting tons of new and fabulous people. This summer was one of tremendous changes for everyone. My childhood home was sold and my mother moved into her own place, which was both exciting and scary for everyone. After being selected and promoted to Chief Petty Officer, Aaron spent his summer in Willow Grove, PA preparing for and enduring a rough initiation process which ended with his advancement.




September arrived with the anticipation of a new school year for both Ashlyn and I. Ashlyn was excited and prepared for her first day of first grade at Sherwood Elementary School, I was just ready the freedom of having your oldest in school all day. She is definitely my daughter, and that's all I will say about that. I also started college classes in both Math and psychology preparing to enter Central Washington University's Education program. That's been an adjustment in itself, after being out of school for 7 years it's been rough.


October brought some emotional turmoil and strife to our home. After a long 5 day drive across the country Aaron returned to Seattle surprised to find a changed family dynamic that's been tough to adjust to. While we are all learning and adjusting to this new situation we've managed to keep our spirits high, maintaining family traditions and spending time together as often as we can. Halloween in our family was fun for everyone! Spending the day cruising the mall for candy while dressed up as Cinderella and a pirate we then wandered the hometown streets of downtown Edmonds (in the rain no less) procuring more Halloween treats.
